Better Business. Better World is a sustainability consultancy run by Camilla Barnes in Gloucestershire, South West England. Camilla helps product-based, heritage-rich businesses with high environmental impact transition into socially & environmentally responsible operations without compromising tradition or profitability. She specialises in supporting sectors like food, drink, personal care, and manufacturing through phased implementation plans, hands-on support, and structured decision-making tools that integrate ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) into everyday business functions – aligning culture, strategy, and operations for lasting impact. She specialises in B Corp, ISO 14001 and 9001 certifications. She is a co-chair of Gloucestershire B Local (a network run by businesses for businesses, sharing social and environmental best practice in Gloucestershire). She’s been supporting businesses on their ESG journeys since 2017. Alongside her ESG work, she worked for nearly 10 years at Innovate UK/UK Research and Innovation – working on Women in Innovation and Young Innovator programmes as well as business improvement. Prior to this, she worked for 4 years at a sustainable development charity in a Biosphere Reserve in central Mexico, has a Masters in Latin American Development from London University and a BA in Spanish & French from Cambridge University.
